COACHES CORNER

Welcome to the JGFA Coaches Corner. Please utilize this page to find links to your required certifications and also general resources related to coaching softball.

COACHING REQUIREMENTS

Starting in 2020, USA Softball is requiring a background check for all adult dugout personnel.

  • At least one coach on every team must be ACE Certified.
  • ALL Coaches must complete the Heads Up Coaches concussion training.
  • ALL adult personnel that will be in the dugouts must also complete the Safe Sport training. This includes Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, and Team Managers.
    Links for all of these are in the tabs at the top of this page.

Once you have completed a certification send the certificate/receipt to the JGFA email for our records and so that you can be reimbursed for any costs.

These are not suggestions, they are mandatory and any teams that have staff not fully meeting the certification requirements for their individual roles will be put on hold until all criteria are met.

NFCA COACHES CLINIC INFORMATION

Coaches, it’s important to continue learning, growing and honing your skill set, too. Attend an NFCA Coaches Clinic and surround yourself with hundreds of other passionate coaches. We promise you’ll leave with more knowledge, more drills, better philosophies and maybe even some free equipment! Our speakers will reignite the fire within you to be a better coach for your student-athletes.

These two-day events will provide you with an “up close and personal” setting to learn from world-class speakers. Topics range from pitching and offense, to base running, team culture and practice planning. Have a question? You can ask it during the Q&A panel with the speakers, in the hallway post-speaker sessions or find our speakers at the social hour.
